The weather has been baffling and unhinged due to profuse rains that usually come with mighty roar of thunder and lightning - in midsummer, for almost two weeks now, but after a visit at the Senior Citizens Building in Poblacion Central, with the key sponsors of the Computer Van Aralan that is currently in progress, the weather seemed to be alluring and there was yet enough time for Mayor Kimi to spare in making rounds to some barangays within her influence so without second thoughts, she yanked Sanggunian Bayan Member, Atty. Mina Joy C. Pangasinan inside her Expedition and ordered Mr. Keong Reyes and SB Member, Engr. Marlon Saturnino to lead her to where their proposed road project sites in Barangay Tara-tara that will connect it to the Municipalities of San Fabian and San Jacinto.
After some beating and defiance of the craggy road that almost convinced this writer to back-out, the two places were outlines of splendid panorama of crystal clear waters and mountain ranges that kiss the sky. Standing atop a hill where Sison meets the Municipalities of Pozorrubio and San Jacinto, vivid mountain monuments line the eastern horizon to prove the vast expanses of lands that the Mayor rules.
The Mayor was convinced by the necessity and gain of constructing the two routes that Engr. Marlon Saturnino and Mr. Keong Reyes proposed but seeing the scale of the project to be financially demanding, she smiled wryly and said, “Kayong dalawa talaga, pinahihirapan niyo ako. You want me again to go out there and look for the money!” While there is yet no specific source to finance the proposed project, Mayor Kimi asked the two to lead her to the nearest priority project site submitted by the Barangay Council.
She was shown the site of the approved road concreting project submitted by Barangay Camangaan officials. They want the existing narrow road to be widened to improve the flow of traffic and to have a solar drying area. The Mayor who took a close scrutiny of the existing road that was built prior to her rule found out some irregularities of its construction.
