The Association of Barangay Service Point Officers in the Municipality of Sison cramped inside the Municipal Police Station to donate pencils and to show their strong advocacy to the Police’s LAPIS Program.
“LAPIS” is an acronym word for “LA pis para sa P uso at I sipan ng estudyante ng S ison” which means, “Pencil for the heart and mind of a student of Sison”.
The LAPIS program is a concept of the Sison PNP Chief, Rodolfo D. Castro, Jr., that was put into actuality Immediately upon full endorsement of the Mayor, Hon. Kimi S. Cojuangco.
Literally, the program is a simple distribution of pencils to all school children at one is to one ratio which will be handed out face-to-face by the police to be spearheaded by the new chief in a synchronized visit that they will be conducting in all public schools in Sison. But allegorically, according to the new Sison PNP Chief, the program aims to win back the people into a closer and more harmonious relationship with the police. The police also want to instill into the minds of the people that they too are affectionate and affable.
