Accounts of the fate of the town of Sison after the rage of typhoon Pepeng have reached everywhere and touched the hearts of many friends and kababayans locally and abroad.

This did not hop notice of the openhanded officers and members of the Assumption Alumnae Association of the famed Assumption College in San Lorenzo Village, Makati City. The team headed by Ms. Ma. Corazon T. Lopez, Associate Dean of School of Business, along with Ms. Ria Salvana, Office of the President Consultant; Ms. Vinda B. Vargas, College Dean Executive Assistant; and Ms. Helen Alcalen, the School Nurse, withstood the stab of a seven hours drive on a van tagged on by a ten-wheeler truck full of relief goods for the typhoon victims of Sison. However, the jovial deportment seen in the faces of the Associate Dean, fondly called “Coco”, and the Consultant made an exciting occasion as Mayor Kimi who is an alumna of the prestigious school that is exclusive for women met them.

While unloading the priceless cargoes, the Mayor took the pleasure of touring them around the town square mingling with them like long lost friends. The Mayor narrated some accounts of the transformation of the town from a primitive and shabby setting to a contemporary art that gained immense appreciation from the townspeople particularly the youth. Modern technologies seem to be giving a hard time for the farmers and senior citizens to tag on but they enjoy the free calls to the U.S. and Canada. Some of them even enrolled in the three-month free Computer Van Aralan sponsored by the Ai-Hu Foundation in coordination with Mayor Kimi in a try to keep pace with modernization.
