Brgy. Inmalog - Sitio Pinalpal is also one of the many places in Sison that is situated atop a hill. On January 21, 2011, representatives from the Red Cross Office led by Ms. Myrna Araos, Mdm. Gloria Pugal, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator and staff, Brgy. Inmalog Council headed by P/Brgy. Adonis Manzano, and recent nursing graduates that are residents of Sison trekked to the place to conduct a two-day stress management training to the residents. In the training design, it stated that the program aims to recognize the sources of stress, their content and mechanisms evoking individualized emotional, cognitive, social and physiological reactions related to personality traits. Risks of dysfunctional abusive and self destructive coping are to be identified enabling exploring alternative strategies that can be applied and further developed.
MAYOR MINA JOY C. PANGASINAN - STRESS BUSTER
Mayor Mina Joy C. Pangasinan and staff also traversed the place by foot in its first day to observe the activity and to visit the residents.
The mayor’s associations with former Congressman Mark O. Cojuangco in his sixteen kilometers walk exercises finally made a good treat in this activity. The splendid panorama of vast empty lands and the clean brooks that continuously irrigate the farms below somehow made the uphill trek a pleasure tour.
A warm cheer from the residents greeted the mayor and her staff as they approached the Pinalpal Elementary School where the activity was held. The funny games that were introduced by the Red Cross volunteers, which is a way to develop a sense of bonding among the participants at the start of the activity, immersed all the participants particularly the residents with so much fun that according to Joy, the mayor’s secretary, Karyo’s smile seemed to have locked in his face that it needed his hands to knead his mouth and lips to ease them back to normal.
MS. SARAH SEVIDAL STRESS-FREED
STRESS-FREE TRAINORS AND CONDUCTORS
The mayor, a good orator, added more fun to the opening event as she interleaved her speech with humor that brought laughter to her listeners. She encouraged the residents to be resilient with the erratic mood of modern times, which was exactly what the program was there for; to teach the residents how to cope in times of stressful events.
