“It’s not another great Whoopi Goldberg movie but a play in reality.”
The Municipal Library is undergoing major revisions under the meticulous direction of Mayor Kimi’s sister, Ms. Cristy Schulze Bernasconi.
During a short chat with the Honorable Mayor, she gave some few accounts of her shopping from one famous bookstore to another with her sister, looking for best children’s books and reference materials that will entice the reading habit of her very young constituents.
As each book was slid out into view, one can’t help appreciate them as very sophisticated, essential and pricey. All were new books and personally handpicked by the Honorable Mayor and sister.
Ms. Bernasconi squatted herself at the children’s corner painstakingly recording the books, designing tags and assigning color codes. Sensing that there could be shortage in the availability of colors to be used, she quipped, “Buy all the colors in the world!”
From a distance, you can see the delight and passion radiating from within her as she carefully unwrap the books as if the beneficiaries were her own.
This very rare moment with Ms. Bernasconi inspired the staffs of the Municipal Library and the Office of the Mayor, who were the workforce during the revision. First perception of her being cold and distant proved off beam just as the Honorable Mayor in her first days in office.
Muchos gracias Mdm. Cristy and Mayor Kimi!
