Sison Idols gain tremendous ovation during performances in schools and universities. The once thought to be a plain fiesta bustle, an added spice to the season for Sison, is currently one of the hottest issues that is also bound to gain the whole district’s thrill particularly the youths who are the honorees of this year’s festivity.

Previous performance at Benigno V. Aldana National High School in Pozorrubio, Pangasinan almost resulted to a mad dash when the students-crowd turned wild and virtually out of control. As each of the celebrities performed their best, the crowd was illicitly carried and possessed by their chosen idols that soon turned nearly catastrophic, particularly the Idols’ kissing bandit, Steph, who was almost devoured with kisses - an overdose of his own medicine? or the wrath of nature? The staffs and utility workers and even the Mayor’s security personnel all jumped in to form a human barricade where the idols were trapped by their manic admirers. The cheering and the hullabaloo the crowd created were so deafening and violent; yet, very inspiring and animated that put Pozorrubio Mayor, Hon. Emma Chan, and Mayor Kimi in real ecstasy.

Latest performance done at the Urdaneta City University, the crowd was sophisticatedly wild and a bit urbane compared to Benigno V. Aldana National High School - exactly corroborating Mayor Kimi’s early prediction. The intense heat forced them to flock under the trees and the others stayed inside their rooms but their cheers and shouts of approbation still filled the university’s quadrangle. Their gameness was exceptional when the idols drag a selection of them to the center of the piazza for a dance that again put the crowd extremely jubilant. Mayor Amadito Perez, ABONO’s Engr. Rosendo So, 5th District Board Member Danilo C. Uy and Mayor Kimi were present during the show.

At a lunch, Mayor Kimi, the brain behind this venture, said that this year’s activity is a new season for Sison where the youths are given the glare of publicity, hence, this year’s theme, “THIS IS MY NOW”, a tribute to Sison’s youths. “This is to boost their expectations, to give them hope and let them feel their worth. Whoever prevails in this contest shall be crowned the town’s 2008 king or queen,” the Mayor added. Some commented that there seems to be a paradox in the scheme, the crown which belongs to the Queen will be passed on to another who is not a member of the Royal Family makes up the mystification. But the Mayor wants it realized that it may be atypical and poles apart from the usual ritual but we are in a new season that is now assigned to the youths.
